Christmas with Music Card

Good afternoon crafty friends, I hope you have enjoyed your Christmas however you spend it.  My project today is a Folding box Card with a Christmas/Music theme.  To create the base of the card I followed Marie Gamber's excellent tutorial.  Here is a side view.

This is an ideal card because it folds flat inside a standard envelope or it can be used to hold a gift for the recipient.

Card recipe:
White cardstock
Black cardstock
Kaisercraft Christmas paper pad
My Bestie Elizabeth digital image
Wild Orchid Crafts Pointsettia
Music notes stickers
Spectrum Noir pens
Glossy Accents

Christmas card/tag

Hello there, a Christmas card today with a vintage feel.  I started off with Kraft Cardstock and used a lovely vintage themed paper pad, BoBunny Silver & Gold Collection.  I matted the paper on cream cardstock, added another strip across the centre of the card to make a pocket.  I Made a small tag with the Merry Christmas sentiment embossed in gold to place in the pocket.  The image is Sherri Baldy's My Bestie 324 and I coloured her with Spectrum Noir pens and added Glossy Accents to the earrings and necklace.  I matted the image on the designer paper and added to the card with foam pads.  I placed a spray of gypsophila and red rosebuds with a poinsettia from Wild Orchid Crafts at the bottom left of the card and gold star stickers on the other corners.

Post it Note Holder

Hello there, a crafty friend is hosting a challenge over on YouTube.  The challenge is to make something incorporating wood so I have made a post it note holder.  I started off with a wooden stamp, took off the rubber and lined the base with red felt.  On the top of the block I added fine lace so the wood would still be seen, I carried on with lace around the sides.  I used cream card to make the actual holder and decorated the top with lace and one of my hand made fabric flowers with a pearl centre.  A small loop of cream ribbon is there for ease of lifting to access the post it notes.  To finish the top I made a flower spray with Sweetheart Blossoms, 2 Tone Gypsophila and beaded spray from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I placed the flower stems in a bead cap and added a small red bow.  I adherred the spray to the block over an applique.

Here is a view of the open post it note holder

Mixed Media Wall Hanging

Good morning, my project today is an Autumn themed mixed media wall hanging.  I started off with base card and added strips of mulberry paper with mod podge.  When dry I painted it all over with bronze, orange and dark brown acrylic paint.  After the paint had dried I randomly stamped over the area.  I then glued the base card to corrugated cardboard to give it more strength.

At the top right I added a spider's web.  I painted it black before adding to card base.  There is also a small plastic spider in the web.

In the bottom right hand corner I added a few plastic green leaves, conkers and pine cones coated with glossy mod podge, then I added flowers in earth tone colours.

I carried the flowers, conkers and pine cones arrangement along to the next corner and added the pumpkin after painting it orange and black.

For the top left corner, I added a small copper coloured chain to drape down the base card then glued the bat on the top.
To finish I used a banner strip with October and a small spider's web, these came from Graphic 45 A Place in Time paper collection.

The bat, pumpkin and spider's web are laser cut shapes from Fernli Designs and the flowers
from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I hope you like my mixed media project.

Egyptian Themed Tag

Good Afternoon

My project today is an Egyptian Themed Tag for entry in a Tag Hop over on YouTube.

I started off with white cardstock as my tag, then covered it with Hunkydory  foiled paper from the Art Deco range.  The focal image is the very famous Burial Mask of Tutankhamun I have layered it on black cardstock then gold mirror card, adding foam tape before adhering to the tag.  At the bottom of the tag I have added copper trim with gold coloured beads.  To finish I have added thin black lace at the top.  As this is such as striking image I felt no further embellishment was required for this project.

Good Afternoon

This project is a pocket tag mini album with a Downton Abbey Theme for a challenge on YouTube.  I used white cardstock and Papermania Capsule Collection Wild Rose designer papers.  I have used ring binders to hold the album together and decorated them with lace and ribbon.  Each pocket page holds a tag with one of the characters from the television series.  There are ten pocket pages but I have not shown them all here on my blog.  There is a link on my Facebook page to a YouTube video where I show all the pages in the album, together with a keepsake box I made.
